Overview

Vision: Our vision is to focus on the strength of our service members, veterans and their families and the value they bring to the Commonwealth while being the lead advocate in serving those who have served.

Mission: Our mission is to connect service members, veterans, and their families to local, state, and federal benefits, programs, recognition they have earned, and to provide the highest quality care to the residents of our Pennsylvania Veterans’ Homes.

Highlights

In the VBA Pilot, PA VETConnect will become a certified partner of Onward Ops. This will enable the Commonwealth to connect with transitioning service members and introduce them to state resources and their chosen destination communities 6-12 months before they leave the military. With proactive outreach, guided by the technology and data supporting the Pilot, we will be able to address the social determinants of health in new and innovative ways to support and document improved new veteran integration and outcomes.

There is also a pre-transition recruiting advantage for our State Guard for those that seek to continue their service.

We will be recruiting and training sponsors and Community Integration Coordinators for Onward Ops as we bring this national initiative to the Commonwealth.

Through the Pilot, county government, employers, the Pennsylvania National Guard Association (PNGAS) and credentialed Veteran Service Organizations (VSO) will be connected early and directly in a cohesive and coordinated manner to transitioning service members through local sponsors and Community Integration Coordinators.

In the first phase of the Pilot, we will be working with the Pennsylvania State Guard and recognized service organizations such as the Travis Manion Foundation and Team Red, White & Blue to develop events and opportunities for community service that will bring our military and veteran community together with our greater civilian population and in particular our youth.

Please join us as we band together in service to uplift our communities.

ETS Sponsorship is a 501c4 nonprofit corporation headquartered in Washington D.C.. ETS Sponsorship is not a charity. ETS Sponsorship supports service members transitioning out of military service through its flagship Onward Ops military transition support program.  Onward Ops is an evidence-based program that successfully transitions service members  to their post-military communities in order to prepare them for civilian life. New Veterans are a special population of interest due to the elevated risk for unemployment, homelessness and suicide during their first year after transitioning to civilian life. State partnerships with ETS Sponsorship expand and unify the support into local government and community organizations. An objective of this pilot  is to determine the measures of effectiveness necessary to extend the technology platform and organizational structure to support the National Guard and the total Veteran population.
